To the church in Ephesus, I send my greetings.……….lol
My mum is genuinely concerned about the amount of time I spend writing everyday that she has started to address me as the famous, talented writer that is Apostle Paul.
As amusing as this could be I'm even more concerned that she doesn't see where I get it from……. She's one badass writer that I'm still trying to convince her to write us, young people a book in her life time.
My mum is a woman of God and of wisdom, a warrior and an Amazon, she has wealth of various life experiences, lessons and teachings, that I hope she gets to share with the world someday, especially young people.
If you think so too, please encourage her in the comments to write us a book and I'd show the comments to her.
Moving on,
How are you my dear friend? Don't give lies as an answer, How are you really?
As for me, I'm having a really busy week and I'm having a difficult time organising my day but I just thought to drive by. This particular letter may not be so put together…I'm warning you in advance but stay with me…..
One thing commonly common right now is the growth mantra flowing through media and even real life and I couldn't be more happier about the intensity with which the “Growth sermon” is being preached.
And here I am adding my voice(letter) to the ocean of preachers to preach this sermon over and over again.
I believe if a sermon is good and true, it needs to be heard over and over again. The last time John 3:16 was preached in the Bible, was it deleted?
So the Growth sermon, which you may be tired of hearing already has come to stay!!!
Like I'd always say......
When you stop growing you start dying....
So, whatever you are really doing or you need to do to ensure growth in these times should be taken even more seriously.
Since I crawled back into the social media space and out of my cocoon (room), I've had conversations with and experienced people I used to know and I can tell that they are not the same anymore...
They are kinder with their words, more polished in their style, more graceful in their actions, more refined in their character, more deeper in their relationship with God, more invested in their goals and becoming, more meticulous about their lifestyle, wiser in their ways, more intentional about their relationships, maximizing opportunities, honing their skills, mastering their craft excellently and diligently, tapping into their potentials, investing in themselves (spirit, soul and mind), trading mediocrity for excellence.
The point here is, don't let people meet you where they left you. Grow. Evolve.
Whatever it is you're doing right now to ensure tangible, all-round progressive growth, I applaud you.
I'm proud of my generation -of you- for embracing the need to grow in order to stay living, to evolve, to stay relevant and to be the VALUE!
This is the season where we don't just exist, we live, we live full lives.
And in order to do that, we need to do a whole lot of growing up as painful and as inconvenient as it is.
All the pruning, all the shearing, all the burning up, all the weeding, all the sowing, all the planting, all the unlearning, all the shedding, all the watering, cultivating, refining, sprouting may be torturous and interminable but I assure you in harvest season, you'd rejoice fully.
You'd love the outcome of your growth.
Growth is a process that must be embraced, whatever ways or method God is using to prune, refine and grow you in this season, I encourage you to stay in it. Don't waste the season. Don't waste it complaining, comparing and wishing to get out of it. Don't waste the season of growth. Shed what needs to be shed. Take on what needs to taken on. Become who you need to become.
The process births the becoming, not the end result. Stay right there in the process.
Till you become.
Even your greatest mentor who is also your Lord and personal Saviour embraced growth and stayed in the process of it, so who are you not to embrace growth, eh fine girl?????
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” Luke 2:52. This verse describes Jesus' growth in four areas:
Mentally: Wisdom
Physically: Stature
Spiritually: Favor with God
Socially: Favor with others
Jesus perfectly exemplifies holistic growth, and I think it's worth emulating. Isn't that what we are all striving for, to become more like Him.
Grow. You have big shoes to fill.
Finally,
My brethren or beloved, in Apostle Paul's voice.
Let me be one of or if not the first to commend you for embracing growth.....
Against all odds.
Thank you for being brave enough to grow in spite of it all; through harsh or favourable weather conditions and seasons.
The familiar can be very convenient and comfortable but you chose to get out of your comfort zone, to launch into the deep.
Growth is difficult but it's necessary and you're doing it. Pat yourself on the back. You sef dey try…….
So my dear friend, what tangible growth have you made in this season? What areas is God showing you that you need to grow in this season and how are you embracing the process of growth? How difficult is your own pruning and refining method? I'd love to hear from you in the comments.
Some of mine is how I need to curtail my sleeping habit and snap out of laziness……😖😫also, small small pride and a little bit of bad bad character here and there. I've also realised that I have an 'I don't care' attitude and I'm not so friendly and accommodating of people, especially strangers……haaaa. It's plenty but I'll just stop here….
I have my birthday in 10 days time and I'm not sure how I truly feel…
Till I write to you again,
Be not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind……
Nuella,
Your sister in Seasons!
